1. On timber structures:

We conduct analyses and experiment to investigate seismic performance of timber structures.

2. On estimation of earthquake damage in Osaka Area:

We calculate strong motion during earthquakes originating in Uemachi Fault Zone and Nankai Trough. And then, we simulate damege of buildings considering ground condition of each site.

Our study helped seismic retrofitting for Tsutenkaku Tower, one of landmarks in Osaka.

3. On soil-structure interaction:

We conduct analyses (including FE analyses) and experiments to invertigate seismic behavior of soil and foundations during earthquakes.

4. On response redution and base-isolated structure:

We study base-isolated struture and develop geomaterial with a view to reduce earthquake damage.
